Making the Most of a 25 sq ft Unit
A compact layout for student belongings, seasonal items, sports equipment and up to around forty boxes.

READING NOTE
Make a quick list before you start.
Write down the largest items, anything fragile and what you may need to retrieve first. That small step makes the advice in this guide easier to apply.
A 25 sq ft unit is roughly the size of a small garden shed. It holds more than it first appears to when boxes are consistent and the tallest items are planned first.
Measure the awkward pieces
A bicycle, narrow bookcase, armchair or set of golf clubs will determine the layout. Note their width and height before you choose boxes.

Use one or two box sizes
Uniform boxes stack more safely and leave fewer unusable gaps. Fill them fully enough to hold their shape without making them too heavy to lift.
Store vertically
Stand suitable flat items against a protected wall and use the full height of stable shelving. Keep weight low and do not lean unsecured objects where they can fall.
Reserve the front for regular access
Place seasonal clothing, files or equipment you may collect during the rental near the door. Less urgent boxes can sit behind them.
Check the fit in person
ROOMHOLD teams can show you a 25 and 35 sq ft unit side by side so the difference is easy to judge.
