Most dry household belongings and ordinary business items can be stored safely. Restrictions protect customers, staff and the facility, so it is worth checking before you pack.
Common items that are suitable
Furniture, boxed clothing, books, sports equipment, tools, non-sensitive business records and sealed retail inventory are all typical choices.
Do not store hazardous materials
Flammable liquids, gas bottles, explosives, corrosive chemicals and toxic substances are prohibited, even in small quantities.
Food and living things must stay out
Perishable food, plants, animals and any item that may attract pests cannot be kept in a unit. Sealed, shelf-stable food for commercial use should be discussed with the facility team first.
Think carefully about valuables
Cash, jewellery, irreplaceable documents and items of exceptional personal or financial value are better kept in a specialist secure environment.
Ask if an item is unusual
